How to play Calcetín Suelto
Calcetín suelto is Spanish for “odd sock”. A sock came out of the washing machine without its pair, and your job is to help it fly through the house, dodging everything in its way, until it finds it. The game is free, works on phones and computers, and needs no sign-up.
Play nowControls
- Fly: tap the screen, click or press Space. Every tap is a small hop up; if you stop tapping, the sock falls.
- Pause: press P. The game also pauses by itself when you switch tabs.
- Two players on one phone or keyboard: player 1 taps the left half or presses A, player 2 taps the right half or presses L.
The four adventures
- 🏠 The house: five rooms, from the washing machine to the clothesline, the dryer, the drawer and under the sofa. Every 10 points takes you to the next room; at 50 you find the pair.
- 🐶 The rescue: Bobi the dog ran off with the pair. Chase him through the laundry basket, the bathroom, the kitchen and the toy room to his kennel in the garden.
- ➕ Maths: every third obstacle is a column of three answer boxes. Fly into the one with the right answer to the sum. There are 10 questions and they get harder: first up to 10, then up to 20, then up to 50.
- 🔤 Words: like Maths, with easy English questions for ages 8 and 9: colours, opposites and simple sentences.
Every right answer is worth 5 points.
Design your sock
Before you play, give your sock a name and pick its colour, the colour of its details and its pattern: stripes, dots or plain. The game remembers it for next time.
Challenge your friends
At the end of each run you get a WANTED poster with your sock. Copy it to send it, or press Copy challenge link. Whoever opens that link plays the same course with your sock flying next to them as a ghost, repeating your exact hops. If they beat you, the game tells them.
Tips
- Tap calmly: lots of taps in a row send you into the ceiling.
- Look at the gap in the next obstacle before you pass the one in front of you.
- The game speeds up a little as your score goes up.
- Maths and Words are slower, so there is time to think.
For parents and teachers
The Maths and Words adventures are a playful way to practise mental arithmetic and basic vocabulary. Runs are short, one or two minutes, and two-player mode lets you play together on one device. The game has no chat, asks for no personal data and has no purchases. It is paid for by ads, which Google shows in a child-appropriate mode. Details are in the privacy policy.
